Report: Chiefs Hire Weis' TEs Coach From Notre Dame

Yes, another coaching staff change.

Brad Biggs of the National Football Post reports the Kansas City Chiefs will soon announce the arrival of Bernie Parmalee to the coaching staff.

Per Biggs, Parmalee will coach the tight ends. The position became vacant with the recent loss of Bob Bicknell to Chan Gailey's staff on the Buffalo Bills.

Parmalee was most recently the tight ends and assistant special teams coach under Charlie Weis at Notre Dame.

He's a nine year NFL veteran having been part of the New York Jets from 1999-2000, which means he's got that Pioli/Haley/Parcells connection.

Parmalee was with Notre Dame since 2005. Prior to that, he coached tight ends and special teams for the Dolphins.

He's been credited with much of the success of Notre Dame tight ends Anthony Fasano and John Carlson.
