Former Chiefs OC Al Saunders Getting an Interview With the Ravens

Our own KCSatchMo once described former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator like this: "If there is a nicer person in the NFL, I don’t know who it is. Carl may have been the King and Vermeil the Lord of all things Chiefs in those days. But Al was the mayor."

That mayor is getting an interview with the Baltimore Ravens for their vacant quarterbacks coach position, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Former Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn is also interviewing for the position that is now open with Hue Jackson moving onto the Oakland Raiders.

Saunders has deep connections to the Chiefs.

From 1989 to 1998, he was the associate head coach/wide receivers coach. After a stint with the St. Louis Rams, he returned in 2001, along with Dick Vermeil, to head one of the best offensive units in football until 2005.
