Chiefs Present Beats Chiefs Past in 13-10 Thriller

The Kansas City Chiefs present prevailed over the Kansas City Chiefs past this afternoon in Orlando, FL.

The Chiefs current defensive coordinator, Romeo Crennel, got his first win in red. Mr. Crennel was sporting a red shirt coaching the East squad to a 13-10 victory in the East-West Shrine Game. Mike Kafka threw a two yard touchdown pass to Andrew Quarless with just six seconds remaining for the go ahead score.

Romeo received a Gatorade bath after the game and, as Patrick Allen said, did a little shimmy to go along with it.

Unfortunately in a game that involves the Chiefs past and present, it had to include a loser. And, even more unfortunate, it was another close loss for Marty Schottenheimer. As someone said in the comments, he just can't win a postseason game. It was almost fitting (as a Chiefs fan, you know what I mean).

What was also fitting was the announcers pointing out the dominance of Crennel's defensive line. A sign of things to come? Let's hope.

There were lots of prospects in the game that played well, including a few local guys. We'll wrap up the game tomorrow and snag some quotes from the Chiefs past and present.  We'll also take a look at what the players are saying about Crennel's coaching style.
