Broncos Rule WR Eddie Royal Out; Release OT Herb Taylor

A day after hearing that the Denver Broncos have ruled out their #1 WR Brandon Marshall tomorrow against the Chiefs, we hear today that Denver is also sitting WR Eddie Royal:

Royal is still recovering from the neck injury he suffered two weeks ago against Oakland.

The team on Saturday signed receiver Matt Willis from the practice squad to be the fourth receiver in the game against the Chiefs. Willis will join Jabar Gaffney, Brandon Stokley and Brandon Lloyd as the team's active wide receivers. Those four players have a combined 58 catches this season (40 for Gaffney, 14 for Stokley and 4 four Lloyd).

In order to make room for the new reciever, the Broncos also released offensive lineman Herb Taylor. As I'm sure you remember, Taylor was drafted by the Chiefs and rode the bench for a few years.

The Broncos signed Taylor just a few days ago.

The stars are aligning for a Chiefs win tomorrow. With Marshall and Royal out, the Chiefs can actually focus on stopping the Broncos' rushing attack. The Chiefs gave up 245 yards rushing to Denver in their first meeting of the season, something that almost assuredly will not happen with Denver's top two WR targets out.

Are you feeling better about tomorrow's game? You should be.
