Chargers Give Norv Three Year Extension

How you view Norv Turner will determine whether this is good news or bad news: The San Diego Chargers announced this evening that they have extended Norv Turner's contract three more years.

"I’m extremely proud of the job Norv has done with this team," said Chargers owner Dean Spanos. "In three seasons he’s led the team to three division titles. I’m confident that if we strengthen our roster and continue to provide Norv the assets he needs, this team will have continued success."

Norv is now with the Chargers through 2013, according to his contract.

Good news or bad news?

As I've said before, the Chargers are turning into the Chiefs of the 90s. Very good, and even dominant at times in the regular season but unable to get it done in the postseason.

As much as  I hate to admit it, as long as they have Philip Rivers, they're probably going to be pretty competitive.

As we mentioned earlier, this is the second big coaching move the AFC West has seen today. The Broncos released their defensive coordinator this evening.

As a Chiefs fan, do you approve of this move?
