If you were following the Kansas City Chiefs last off season, you probably caught wind of former Cleveland Browns head coach Romeo Crennel's name being dropped in connection with the Chiefs' then open defensive coordinator position.

Obviously, Crennel to the Chiefs didn't happen in 2009. Here was the last word on the matter from Crennel's agent on March 5, 2009:

"That is not going to happen at this time. Coach is focusing on his rehabilitation and then he will entertain opportunities in both football and in the media. He is looking forward to what lies ahead."

What lies ahead is apparently the Chiefs' DC position in 2010. There has been a flurry of speculation over the last few days around Crennel and the Chiefs, with Kansas City emerging as Crennel's favorite landing spot.

After the jump, I've put together a short timeline of the Chiefs/Crennel stories so you can get caught up. Use this thread for Crennel talk today, unless the big news goes down.
