AFC West May Get Another New Coach Courtesy of Al Davis

report from David White of the San Francisco Chronicle says Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis will meet with head coach Tom Cable to "discuss all the reasons he'll get fired, say people up and down the organization chart."

The only question, as one confidant put it, is whether Cable gets fired "for cause" (see Randy Hanson scandal, "Between the Lines" report, etc.) or if he gets fired just 'cause (JaMarcus Russell benching, non-scoring offense).

This would mean that since the beginning of the 2007 season, the AFC West has all new coaches.

The Chargers appear to have made the right call with Norv Turner. The Chiefs and Broncos are still a little too early to tell on their coach.

Almost half the league has switched coaches in the last year so the AFC West's numbers are in line with the rest of the league.
