Arrowheadlines: Chiefs News 1/10

Good Sunday morning to you Chiefs fans. I'm up early the with the puppy so I figured I'd go ahead and give NJ Chiefs Fan a break and take over Arrowheadlines for today. The NFL has another day of football lined up for you:

But first, we've got your links to check out this morning. Enjoy.

Chiefs’ rebuilding project is very different than the one from 20 years ago - KansasCity.com
"Things are going to change here now," Marty Schottenheimer remembers longtime Chiefs safety Deron Cherry telling him, and more, Schottenheimer remembers the way that made him feel: like the Chiefs were capable of anything. "That element of trust is so critical."

IS Charles The Best Ex-Texas Running Back In NFL? | Arrowhead Addict | A Kansas City Chiefs blog
Watching this Bengals game, I had a epiphany. Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles — not Cedric "I’m On A Boat" Benson nor "Sticky Icky" Ricky Williams — is the best ex-Texas Longhorns RB in the NFL. Additionally, he looks to be both the new breed of running back and potentially one of the best RBs in football. Just follow me on this one.

Scout.com: Grading The Chiefs – Part II: Defense
It’s easy to dog KC’s defenders, because anyone can see they lack talent. But it’s important to realize one thing – this year they were fighting more than just the opposition.

Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez Spices Up Listing With Porsche | Zillow Blog - Real Estate Market Stats, Celebrity Real Estate, and Zillow News
Pretty sweet, if you need a car that is worth approximately $88,000. Kicking in the Porsche is none other than Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez whose Manhattan Beach, CA house has been on the market for over a year. The beach house was completely remodeled in 2004, and from the sounds of it, the rooftop deck is the place to hang out. It has 1,700 sq ft with three separate sections and includes lounge chairs, a built-in grill, sound system and a bed.

Tebow's in, big No. 3, beach run | pnj.com | Pensacola News Journal
"Coach (Tony) Dungy told me it is also a great opportunity to build relationships that you will have for the rest of your life," Tebow said in a news release. "He told me that he met (Kansas City Chiefs coach) Herm Edwards at the Senior Bowl. It's going to be a time to compete and have fun, but also a time to build relationships and have a great week as well."

Quick Snap -- Cowboys 34, Eagles 14 - Blogging The Boys
Accept it. They're good. The Cowboys were their own worst enemy early tonight, sabotaging a tactically brilliant opening drive with two Jason Witten red-zone penalties. Dallas left the first quarter with two long, aborted drives, five penalties and a 0-0 scoreboard. It looked a lot like the Giants '07 breakdown.

Donovan may not have thrown up tonight, but I feel like I'm going to... - Bleeding Green Nation
Let's put this very simply. The Cowboys completely outplayed the Eagles on both sides of the ball for two straight weeks. There's no other way of looking at it. Their QB was better, their offensive line was better, their defensive line was better, their secondary, and their receivers were better. It's that simple. They were a lot better.

Bengals dealt defeat in Playoffs at hands of Jets; 24-14 - Cincy Jungle
First and foremost, the Bengals were the lesser team on the field of play. Outplayed and outcoached completely, our boys in Orange and Black just didn't have an answer for Brian Schottenheimer's offense. The game started out well enough, it really did. And you know what? We were fans of a playoff team today. That's a start.

Jets 24 Bengals 14: Conquering in the Jungle - Gang Green Nation
The Jets are in the final eight for the first time since the 2004-2005 season after today's 24-14 thumping of the Bengals in Paul Brown Stadium. Some were not impressed by last week's domination of Cincy. This one was not as clean, but I don't think anybody will say the Bengals gave anything other than a full effort today. The Jets handled them in their home stadium. That makes back to back wins over a division champion. Can we finally all agree this is a really good team? Please?
