Chiefs QB Cassel in Full Pads Again; Injury Report Coming Soon

The Kansas City Chiefs first injury report of the 2009 season should be out sometime between 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM is the operation is similar to last year.  If you take a look at last year's injury list, nearly all of them were released on Wednesdays in the late afternoon around that time.

What can we expect to see on the injury report?

  • QB Matt Cassel (knee)
  • FS Jarrad Page (???)
  • CB Brandon Flowers (shoulder)
  • TE Jake O'Connell (knee)

Page, Flowers and O'Connell practice last Monday.  Cassel's the only real question mark there.

Per the terms of the injury report, I expect the Chiefs to list him as having a "limited participation" in practice since the last reports we had on him said he was "gingerly" making throws.  He participated in individual drills with a brace on his left knee and left practice with an ice bag strapped to it.

According to Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star (via Patrick Allen in the FanShots), Cassel was in full pads today participating in individual drills.

As of now, it's looking good for Cassel.
