The Kansas City Chiefs wrapped up practice today and head coach Todd Haley spoke with the media afterward.  As expected, many of the questions focused on the status of injured quarterback Matt Cassel, who did suit up in full pads today.

Click here to read a little more about what Cassel did at practice today.  Here are a few of the questions on Cassel and, as expected, Haley was vague on his status.  You can read the whole thing over at the Mothership.

Q: What’s the status of Matt Cassel and what is his status and what was he able to do today at practice?

HALEY: "He was out there as you guys saw. I think as the week goes on we’ll know a little bit more with Matt. It was good that he was out there and he was able to get through some things. As the week goes on a little further we’ll know a little more where he’s at."

Q: Do you think there is a chance he will play this Sunday?

HALEY: "I think it was positive he was on the field."

Q: Will how he feels tomorrow be important in any decision?

HALEY: "Anytime there is something wrong, how they respond to some work is important. Again, it’s good this is a long week and we’ve got the extra day. That will help with anybody that’s nicked up."

Q: At what point does Matt need to practice in order to be able to play on Sunday?

HALEY: "I think that will be pretty much for everybody. You’ve got to practice to have a chance to play. This is a long week so it’s a little different, but I would say generally you need to have a full Friday practice in to have a chance."

I imagine we won't have a much better picture of Cassel's status until Friday, the day in which Haley says a player must practice if they are going to play.

According to a report from the Associated Press, Brodie Croyle would "probably" be the guy if Cassel was unable to go.  That's been the thought process around here for a while.

Another interesting question came regarding the acquisition of former Patriots RT Ryan O'Callaghan.  Haley was asked if this was more of a Scott Pioli move considering his familiarity with the player.

"Anybody that we bring in here we do a lot of tape-work on," Haley told reports.  "So, guys that have been around him are going to have a little more familiarity. But anybody that we’ve brought in here I’ve put in my time looking at him. Most everything we do is together trying to get the right 53."
