According to Josh Looney of the Mothership, the Kansas City Chiefs are close to completion on their initial practice squad.
"Chiefs practice squad is nearing completion," Looney reports.
But, if we learned anything yesterday, just because it's nearly complete, doesn't mean it'll be announced anytime soon.
Other news and notes that you probably already know about while we wait:
- Chiefs reportedly add DE Dion Gales to the practice squad. Makes a lot of sense when looking at the Chiefs depth at DE.
- Like many folks predicted, the Chiefs picked up former New England Patriots RT Ryan O'Callaghan off of waivers. You should pay attention to this signing - he could start plenty of games this season.
- To make room for O'Callaghan, the Chiefs released Barry Richardson. This is semi-surprising to me considering the state of the Chiefs line but the new regime didn't think he was a fit and won't try to fit square pegs into circles.
