Plenty of Connections Between Chiefs and Eagles

Mark_donovan_mediumThere are quite a few connections between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.  Probably the most notable is that the Kansas City Chiefs new COO Mark Donovan worked with the Eagles from '03-'08.

Here are a few of the connections in the front office and the players.

Front office

  • New Chiefs COO Mark Donovan was Eagles Senior VP of Business Operations the last six years
  • Chiefs OL coach Bill Muir was with the Eagles from '92-'94
  • Chiefs Director of Pro Personnel Ray Farmer was an Eagles LB '96-'99
  • Chiefs head athletic trainer Dave Prive was an asst. trainer with the Eagles from '86-'95 and is from Pennsylvania
  • Eagles head coach Andy Reid coached at Missouri '89-'91
  • Chiefs PR director Bob Moore previously worked for the Philadelphia Stars (USFL)

Players

  • Chiefs OLB Andy Studebaker was a sixth round pick for the Eagles in '08
  • Eagles DE Jason Babin and CB Dmitri Patterson played for the Chiefs
  • Chiefs WR Bobby Engram, LB Tamba Hali and RB Larry Johnson played at Penn State
  • Chiefs LB Derrick Johnson's brother, Dwight, played for the Eagles '00
  • Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin played at Missouri
  • Eagles DE Darren Howard played at Kansas State
  • Eagles WR DeSean Jackson's brother, Byron Jackson, was on the Chiefs practice squad '92
  • Chiefs FB Mike Cox played high school football in Pennsylvania

The Chiefs last played in Philadelphia in a 24-21 victory.  The two teams have played five times, with the Chiefs winning twice.  This will be only their second game in Philadelphia.
