Report: Eagles QB Michael Vick Should Return for Chiefs Game in Week Three

ESPN is reporting that Michael Vick's return to the NFL could come in week three.  And wouldn't you know it that's the same week the Kansas City Chiefs travel to Philadelphia to play the Eagles.

Eagles expect Commissioner Goodell to rule by Saturday on QB Michael Vick's possible full reinstatement, ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports.  Vick's expected to be allowed to return by week three, according to sources close to the Eagles and Vick.

Under terms of Vick's conditional reinstatement, Goodell must rule by week six on Vick's regular season eligibility.

As if playing in the City of Brotherly Love weren't tough enough, the stadium is expected to be jam packed full of fans looking to get the first look at Vick in a game that counts in over two years.

This certainly adds a new dynamic to the Chiefs gameplan against the Eagles.  Already coming off an NFC Championship game appearance, the Eagles are jam packed full of playmakers:

  • WR DeSean Jackson
  • RB Brian Westbrook
  • Rookie WR Jeremy Maclin and RB LeSean McCoy

And now....Vick.

Make the jump to see how he has fared against Clancy Pendergast coached defenses (Hint: Is 169 yards in two games bad?).

September 26th, 2004 - Falcons 6 Cardinals 3

  • 10/20 for 115 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT
  • 8 rushes for 68 yards

October 1st, 2006 - Falcons 32 Cardinals 10

  • 13/22 for 153 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT
  • 11 rushes for 101 yards

The Chiefs and Eagles game will kick off at noon (CST) on September 27th.  CBS will air the game.

Too bad the flex schedule isn't available in week three.
