Rutgers WR Kenny Britt

schraggyj with the pick...

As mentioned earlier, Miami’s three biggest areas of need are wide receiver, linebacker, and cornerback. After drafting Brian Cushing in the first round, Miami will likely turn to cornerback or wide receiver. Defensive line is a possibility too, but with Ron Brace off the board, any defensive tackle would be a stretch.

Looking at cornerback, three picks all projected to go late first or early second are off the board (Darius Butler/Sean Smith/Alphonso Smith) leaving Macho Harris from Virginia Tech as a possibility. In all likelihood, there will be more high rated corners available for Miami to choose and I would not be surprised if Miami picks one.

However, in the 2009 Arrowhead Pride Mock Draft with the forty-fourth pick the Miami Dolphins select wide receiver Kenny Britt from Rutgers. While three receivers were taken in the top 8, only 2 have been drafted in the subsequent 36 picks. Britt is probably a steal at #44. Kiper has him going at #22 to the Vikings and he is considered as high as the fourth wide receiver on the board. He is a sort of Dwayne Bowe. Big strong and does a nice job of using his body to shield defenders. He will be a great asset to the accurate Pennington and a good compliment to the quick Ted Ginn. And if you don’t think Parcells will like him, check out the crackback block video below.
