Despite a lack of news (at least through this morning), this week has been sort of nice compared to the last four.
Nearly two months ago, Carl Peterson resigned. The switch was flipped, the team played its last game and the best Chiefs off season of all time was on.
We've gone from Carl Peterson resigning; hiring the best GM candidate of the last five years; firing our coach of three years; hiring the losing offensive coordinator of the Super Bowl; to the relatively mundane speculation about assistant coaching staff.
I can't remember a time when the Chiefs garnered this much attention in the off season. Hell Peter King is even writing about the Chiefs. It's been a long time since others have told me or I've read that people like what's going on with the Chiefs. This really is fun again. Which is the whole point of following football.
Let's take a few minutes today to look back on the amazing changes in this organization over the last two months and prepare ourselves for an exciting future. There is little doubt in Chiefs Nation that the franchise is moving in the right direction.
Here are a couple of links for you on this Friday.
- The Titans named Chuck Cecil their new defensive coordinator.
- C.E. Wendler says, "All that remains is Quarterback X."
- Is Tim Grunhard coaching one of the best high school prospects in the nation?
We'll have more for you today of course. Remember that we could hear a defensive coordinator announcement today. I have no indication of that other than to say it's Friday and the Chiefs may not want to wait through the weekend to make an announcement.
Check back in a bit for more.
