The Chiefs today signed RB Kestahn Moore, a rookie undrafted free agent, according to a league source.
(Update: Moore now confirms the move via his Twitter account.)
The 5'10", 212 pound Moore hails from the University of Florida seeing game action all four years.
While at Florida, Moore had a career high 104 carries and 580 yards as a junior. He averaged over five yards per carry every season until he hit 4.9 as a senior. Full stats can be seen here.
Moore worked out for the Chiefs today. Other running backs, such as Chris Perry, have been given a workout in recent weeks.
Moore also spent time with the Broncos and Chargers since going undrafted.
The need for a running back arises from Kolby Smith's trip to injured reserve as well as an ankle injury that has hampered Dantrell Savage in recent weeks. Javarris Williams was promoted from the practice squad last week so Moore could be joining the Chiefs practice squad or active roster. That will be announced tomorrow.
