LJ Not a Factor Against the Chiefs

Several weeks after saying he would "gallop" all over the Chiefs, RB Larry Johnson carried the ball four times for just 11 yards - about an average of 2.75 yards per carry.

With just under 10 minutes left to play in the second quarter, LJ caught a 9 yard pass and was tackled near the sidelines by Demorrio Williams. Johnson quickly jumped up and was started jawing at Williams as he was pulled back by one of the referees. I'm not sure if Demorrio said anything or if LJ was just hyped up but Williams was eventually pulled away by one of his teammates.

Jason Whitlock of the Kansas City Star said of LJ, "Bengals win but at least LJ made a fool out of himself. Is there a dumber player in the league?"

LJ had just one more carry the rest of the game.

During the game, the CBS announcers said Jamaal Charles and LJ still stay in contact to some degree.

"Charles said he got a text from Larry that said, 'You need to hang onto the ball.' The announcers talked about some of the friendships LJ still had on the team.

LJ's replacement on the Chiefs, Charles, is still within striking distance of 1,000 yards.  Charles had 102 yards on 24 carries against the Bengals bumping his total just 139 yards short of 1,000.
