Last week Chiefs QB Matt Cassel quickly returned to his old friend Dwayne Bowe with a team high 10 targets. Bowe was on the field for the first time in a month after being suspended.
It was Chambers though that led the team in receiving with 114 yards. Bowe showed a bit of rust with just four receptions for 56 yards and a few drops.
Together, Bowe and Chambers are pretty darn good. They make up the majority of Cassel's stats when both are in the game. An average game churns out 8 receptions, 155 yards and 1 touchdown combined.
Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com predicts Bowe will return to form today.
"Dwayne Bowe showed some rust in his return from a four-week absence last Sunday," Looney writes. "Based off his speed and performance in practice this week, I’d expect that rust to be behind him."
The Chiefs will need the passing game this weekend. The Bengals are third in the NFL against the run and, as Looney wrote yesterday, their fast linebackers match up well with Jamaal Charles.
The Bengals pass defense is ranked 15th in the NFL.
What do you think? Does Bowe get back on track today?
