The Kansas City Chiefs are busy this evening. Tonight, Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com announced the Chiefs had activated Dwayne Bowe off the reserve/suspended list. This move was expected, no matter how coy the Chiefs head coach and quarterback approached it.
To make room for Bowe, the Chiefs placed Dantrell Savage on IR. He's been on and off the injury report since injuring an ankle against the Oakland Raiders on November 15th.
The Chiefs also activated guard Daryl Harris from the practice squad. This was likely done in response to Brian Waters' designation as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.
Harris is a 6'4", 300 pound rookie with no NFL experience. He comes from Mississippi where he logged eight starts at left guard last season.
To make room for Harris on the 53 man roster, rookie WR and sixth round draft pick Quinten Lawrence was released. Lawrence was released earlier in the season only to be re-signed to the practice squad. With Harris' promotion, there's currently an open spot on the practice squad. I'm not sure we've seen the last of Lawrence.
So, to recap:
Additions
- WR Bowe reinstated
- G Harris from the practice squad
Subtractions
- RB Savage to IR
- WR Lawrence released
