Every week, I submit capsules on the Kansas City Chiefs fantasy options to SBNation.com. Many of our other bloggers on SBNation do the same so if you want to check out opinions on your fantasy football players from a real live person who covers the team on a daily basis, then SBNation.com is the place to go.
This week, I highlighted Jamaal Charles as a Chief that should have a very nice game against the Bills. The Bills rush defense, like I said, is the worst in the NFL. Matt Cassel is coming off of a couple of rough weeks so I imagine the Chiefs will try to establish the run early with Charles to get Cassel comfortable.
Mushin does weekly fantasy rankings here on AP as well. He always gives you a sleeper and picked Lance Long.
After the jump, my fantasy capsules for the Chiefs. Compare them to Mushin's. Agree? Disagree?
QB Matt Cassel - The Buffalo Bills have one of the better pass defenses in the NFL so don't expect big numbers from Cassel this week. It appears Bills CB Terrence McGee is getting healthy which will only hurt Cassel's cause. He's coming off two miserable games so I fully expect the Chiefs to commit to the run and use this game as a confidence booster for him, if that's possible. Short, high percentage passes is what I expect from him this week. He has 10 TDs and 0 INTs in the red zone this season so if the Chiefs get down there, he's pretty efficient at getting it in the end zone.
RB Jamaal Charles - Start him no doubt about it. The Bills are the worst rush defense in the NFL and the Chiefs QB is struggling which is a perfect recipe for a big day from Charles. Not only do I expect him to get plenty of carries and push 100 yards on the ground, he'll be a target of Cassel early on as they get his confidence back. The numbers say this should be a career game for Charles.
WR Chris Chambers - Like I said, I don't expect the Chiefs to throw the ball much on Sunday but when they do Chambers will be a favorite target. He had a down game last week, as did all the Chiefs receivers. Look for Chambers to be targeted but I wouldn't expect a huge day out of him.
Chiefs Defense - This is probably a pretty good start, if you have to. Statistically the Chiefs rank very low on defense but they create turnovers and should be able to get to the quarterback with the Bills porous offensive line. OLB Tamba Hali is coming off the best game of his career and I expect that to continue with a sack (if not more) and lots of hurries. This should be a relatively good game for the Chiefs defense.
