If you stick around AP long enough, you'll notice a trend. Every so often Chris or Joel have to put out a post for ALL to read reminding us to play nice. I want to say for the record that I have never ever had the privilege to attend a game at Arrowhead. Ever. I have been to see the Royals in KC when Cookie Rojas and Quisenberry and Brett and Mayberry were cleanin' some Yankee ass back in the day. Man what a feeling. Every body there is one of your people.
When you go to a game at Arrowhead, everyone else is tailgating and partying and wearing RED!! Why? Because they love the Chiefs baby. That's what this is all about. OUR Chiefs. But let's not forget it's a man's game, it's confrontational and it's tough. It's competitive. So naturally whether you win or lose, your going to be passionate about our Chiefs. Whether your a kool-aid drinker or your in my camp with those of us who are not big on Haley yet.
The point is, we seem to have lost our sense of humor. We can't laugh at ourselves or our Chiefs. We're not that important people. People die all the time and when they do, that's it. Game over. So don't let this one special part of our lives, a part that should unite us, slip away and become meaningless. Enjoy it.
Look, you couldn't make a spaghetti dish and serve it to everyone on AP and then take a survey and get the same feedback on what people liked or disliked about it from 10 people, let alone hundreds. Now you sure aren't gonna get the same two opinions on something as diversified as football. Not when there's so much emotion involved.
Anyway, I'm just a regular dude growing up in America, a long long way from my Arrowhead friends. I'm not anybody's judge, juror or moderator. But it just seems we could embrace our differences and enjoy them. Just because somebody hates Haley at the moment, big deal. Laugh about it. Laugh at them. Help them to laugh at themselves. When someone is angry about our team right now and their venting, you certainly aren't helping to diffuse the situation by yelling and name calling and insulting people for being themselves.
We all have a right to say what we want and be ourselves and share that with anyone that WANTS to read our input on AP. Hey, personally, I love the kool aid drinkers. Can you seriously imagine how dull and boring AP would become if we didn't have the two camps to pick on each other? We'd be like robots. We'd all come in here and repeat the mantra and wait for our batteries to be recharged. But we're not robots, we're people, we're individuals. We should remember that. You never know what someone just went through in their life or at that moment. So it wouldn't kill us to have a little compassion and kindness for one another would it?
I don't know why people feel they have the right to take ownership of other people so much. People DON'T have to agree with our thinking. And again, if we all agreed I'd be bored to tears.
Take KCPorkchop for example. Instead of getting hateful when he's teased about drinking the Kool-Aid, he took it in stride and even put his profile pic as the kool-aid mascot. That's awesome!! That's the sprit right there. It's a fun, respectful way to say "In your face, I love Kool Aid..." Awesome!! That' makes it fun. Now you can debate and pick on each other all in good fun. When did we get so serious that we forgot what laughter is?
Nobody gets picked on more than me. It's great. Just do it in fun. Don't attack people and insult them for being who they are. That's not right. Look around you AP, for better or for worse we're all part of this dysfunctional KC Chiefs, AP family. We need to remember that and act accordingly, me included.
To all the Kool-Aid drinkers; I love each and every one of you! You make it fun to come to AP and debate. You give foor for thought and you help anchor us sometimes, so we don't drift too far off. I hope we do the same thing for you guys. Now get over here and give me a hug!!!!!!!!!!! (-:
