The Chiefs aren't playing any good this season, but I know that they are playing a little better than last season. Once the season started against the Ravens I thought the Chiefs played well. At the end of the game I thought that there was a glimpse of hope that the Chiefs would be more competitive this season against the great teams. Well then I saw it all unfold as the season went along. The Chiefs are still winless, but I still have hope that we will eventually win a game this season.
Here are a list of potential wins for the Chiefs: Redskins, Jaguars, Raiders, Bills, and the Browns. Now the most likeliest wins for us would be: Raiders, Browns, Bills, and maybe the Jaguars. You never know, we may win all five of the games. All I can say is that we should be able to come out with 3 to 4 wins. If we don't come out with any wins, at least we will be a candidate for the #1 overall pick in the 2010 draft.
Now I am going to talk about the NFL draft. I think we should either draft SS Eric Berry or OT Russell Okung. I have heard really great reports on the both of them. I don't think we have to worry about the Rams taking anyone of those players because they have a huge problem at the QB position. Marc Bulger can't stay healthy so I think that they will most likely take a QB. Some mock drafts have them taking Jimmy Clausen and others have Sam Bradford. There might be some other teams ahead of us to get the two players I mentioned. So I think our most glaring need is OT. The O-Line is getting old and I think that it is time to put some fresh legs in there. I honestly don't know how to build a football team, especially when you have a bad one. The state that the Chiefs are in right now I wouldn't know where to start. I mean, you have problems on defense, special teams(only punt and kick returns and maybe some coverage issues) and then you have the offense. So Pioli can go either way in the draft weather it's WR, OT, SS, TE, LB, C, you name and the Chiefs could probably use it.
Here is my mock draft: Round 1: OT Russell Okung. Round 2: WR Arrelious Benn. Round 2(from trade): OLB Stevenson Sylvester. Round 3: OG John Jerry. Round 4: DT Ekom Udofia. Round 5: WR Jordan Shipley. Round 6: QB Joe Cox. Round 7: FB John Conner(also because of his name). We will see what the rest of the season holds for the Chiefs and I can't wait for the 2010 NFL draft.
