Make sure you head to Pride of Detroit to fill them in on Gunther Cunningham.
I was getting worried this wasn't going to happen.
The Lions have signed Gunther Cunningham to be their new defensive coordinator and head coach Jim Schwartz is expected to make an announcement shortly. Cunningham was believed to be Schwartz's No. 1 target.
Despite a report just yesterday that the Chiefs initially (key word there) denied the Lions permission to speak with Cunningham, new Lions head coach Jim Schwartz has his first coordinator.
Cunningham leaves a terrible Kansas City Chiefs defense for...an equally as bad Detroit defense.
Cunningham spent 11 years with the Chiefs, coordinating some of the best Chiefs' defenses of all time in 1995 and 1997.
Personally, despite our distaste for Cunningham, I believe he will benefit greatly from a fresh start.
Good luck in Detroit Mr. Cunningham. More on Gunther's legacy in Kansas City to come later.
