After a flight to Minneapolis and a bus ride to River Falls, the 2008 Kansas City Chiefs are settling into the dorm rooms of the university. Click here for pictures of the team's arrival. And here is the first update of the camp season. I think this bodes well for the future:
Chiefs’ Security Officer Ken Whiting shared of his trip up to UW-River Falls with the team. He said the demeanors of the players was quite different from last year. "They were mellow and hyped-up," he said. He attributed the vast difference of behavior to the amount of youth that joins the Chiefs for training camp. Whiting said he could feel the anxiousness from the players on the bus ride and anticipates a competitive camp.
Thinking back to last year after reading this quote and I have to say that last year's team did seem tired. Huard at quarterback. Larry Johnson coming off a monster rushing season. The fanbase got exhausted too. Tired is a good way to describe last year.
Practice begins tomorrow and there is an AM and a PM practice. Expect updates mid day and evening, along with the usual morning content.
