Taking a Look at Sedrick Ellis

Sedrick Ellis, a defensive tackle from USC, is one of the newer players on the Kansas City Chiefs radar screen this week. Check out a few clips of Ellis, who looks fast and athletic as hell. But then again, who doesn't in these highlight clips?

Nick Athan of Scout.com recently chose Ellis with the Chiefs first rounder in his mock draft.

He's not as big as LSUs Glenn Dorsey but splits the center and guard better than any interior defensive lineman in the last several years. His size is a concern, but he's not going to be the next Ryan Sims. Ellis came to the Senior Bowl knowing he was a top seven draft pick no matter what. He's a winner, and if the Chiefs pick him and can get Tank Tyler to play at a high level, the defensive line will be outstanding. Ellis was the most impressive defender at the Senior Bowl and someone who has a motor similar to Jared Allen’s.
If the Chiefs get Ellis, that 26th ranked rushing defense jumps up a whole bunch of spots. If Jake Long isn't there, like DJ said, the Chiefs should take a long look at Sedrick Ellis or trade out of there.
