Kansas City Chiefs Add TE James Adkisson to the Practice Squad

And then there were 8.

Adkisson (6-5, 230) originally entered the NFL as rookie free agent with Cincinnati in 2003 and has appeared in two games with Oakland, making one catch for nine yards. Adkisson has also spent time on the Raiders practice squad from 2003-06 and saw duty for the Cologne Centurions of NFL Europa in 2004, catching 11 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown.

The South Carolina alum appeared in 17 games in two seasons with the Gamecocks, hauling in 26 passes for 339 yards and one TD. The St. Louis native also participated on the South Carolina track team after earning Junior College All-America honors at Kemper Military Academy in Boonville, MO.

Big, tall and fast. We'll see how he works out. I can't imagine he'll get more chances than Michael Allan this season though, let alone see any playing time. Also, despite what the roster says, S Chad Williams was released. That leaves us with 54 currently on the active roster, with one more player being cut after Jared Allen serves his two game suspension.

GO CHIEFS!
