62 posts. Thats how many posts I've/we've done since February about Trent Green being traded. And I am sure glad this trade finally got done.
Not to be lost in the hurrah of Trent Green being dealt is what Trent Green did for the Kansas City Chiefs. Except for the bookends of 2006 and 2001, Trent Green was a consistently good QB for this franchise. His stats speak for themselves. A Pro Bowler in 2004 and 2006, Trent was a classy guy and well respected by the Kansas City community. He brought a certain respectability as the face of the franchise for the last six years. We wish him the best of luck with Dolphins and look forward to watching him back in Arrowhead during the preseason.
When you really think about it, this whole trade process was utterly laughable. Two GMs, going at it for the sake of their egos. Thats what this trade came down to. And in the end, neither Carl Peterson or Randy Mueller really got exactly what they wanted. The Chiefs wanted a 4th round pick and they got it in the form of a conditional 5th rounder. But it wasn't a "true" 4th round pick. Randy Mueller couldn't just cave entirely to Carl Peterson. And the Dolphins got a good starting QB, as long as he holds up, for a second day draft pick. Not great for either side but not bad either.

Consider this the Trent Green thread for the day. Anything and everything about the trade can go in here.
**UPDATE** I feel sorry for Dolphins fans. I really do. The Dolphins brass wants to trade Daunte Culpepper but he doesn't want to be traded. Culpepper said, "My position on Trent is that the Dolphins should get the best players that they can and let them compete for the starting job." Sound familiar?
