I'm not going to lie. Its been a slow week. Adam Teicher had an
interesting article last week on Jared Allen's early "return" to Chiefs mini camp (the one with the Big Picture). I'm glad to see Jared Allen prepping for the season with the other Chiefs but I'm still dismayed at his hard line stance on leaving Kansas City. He has already sold his Overland Park house and will be living with a friend in Lee's Summit. He said, "There are two sides to this. There’s the business side, which I’m absolutely fed up with. Then there’s the football side. I’m a football player, and it’s what I love to do. It’s time to focus back on football again." It's a shame that Jared Allen still doesn't get it. The NFL is a business. And right now, investing a long term contract in Jared Allen is not the best business move. Until he finally proves that he can stay out of trouble, he will always be a liability. As much as I love the guy in a Chiefs uniform, he still has a ways to go with his maturity.
