From the official site:
"Conversations between the Chiefs and Trent Green about his future in Kansas City continue to be amicable and productive. The Chiefs have offered Trent the opportunity to remain with the organization with a restructured contract. However, before any decisions are finalized, the Chiefs have agreed to Trent's request to allow him to explore other potential opportunities in the National Football League. We will continue to work in unison toward a resolution that will be acceptable to all parties."
Well thats it folks. Trent Green will look to play somewhere else during the 2007 campaign. Is Huard our #1? I hope so. Hopefully we can work Croyle in there as much as possible to see what he can do. The situation is still slightly up in the air, in that they allowed Trent to seek out a trade but didn't rule out his return to the team. I can't imagine he will return but its a possibility. From what I've heard, the Dolphins are one of the biggest suitors for Trent. Former Chiefs QB coach Terry Shea is down there now.
End of an era in Kansas City Chiefs football. Trent Green was a fantastic quarterback and a great guy to go along with it. We wish him well in his future pursuits. If you've got something more to say, write a diary. Much more to come later...
**UPDATE** Check out this CBS Sportsline article on the situation.
