Mock Draft Tracker Update #8

Eagles Draft

A bit of a reach, but the Chiefs' once-formidable O-line is showing cracks. OT's Kyle Turley and Jordan Black were awful last year, and Black signed with the Texans. Staley is an athletically gifted tackle, but will need to get stronger to make the jump from the MAC to an NFL LT.

Big Cat Country
Chris Houston, CB, Arkansas.  Ty Law isn't getting any younger and his ability to compensate for age through study is a test of diminishing returns.  Houston is fast, albeit small, but a decent fit for the Chiefs, who need a WR more than anything else.

My Sports Rival
This might be one of the biggest no-brainers in the draft. The Chiefs desperately need help at WR and Jarrett has huge upside. His draft stock has taken a bit of a hit because Mike Williams has been a disappointment, but that is not a fair comparison. Jarrett has tremendous hands and runs great routes, and will be an instant upgrade for the Chiefs.

Fantasy Football Jungle
The Chiefs have been searchig for a compliment to Eddie Kennison for years now and will get an opportunity to get a big time pass catcher in Bowe. Bowe is my second favorite WR in this class and I think his value as a Red Zone threat and as a blocker downfield are great. He reminds me a lot of Terrell Owens, and as long as he doesn't become T.O. I think he has a real bright future. A big target like this would help that ball control offense immensely and be a huge weapon for KC.

ConDraft
In this projection, however, they go with a WR in round one, as Eddie Kennison is probably better suited as a solid #2 wide-out. In comes big-play WR Dwayne Jarrett. Jarrett, a prolific college WR with a bright future, is a game-breaker who had an excellent career as a Trojan.

Draft Connection
The Chiefs definitely need to address the Wide Receiver position. Right now they have Eddie Kennison, Samie Parker, and Donte Hall. I don't really see either of them being a good number one receiver. Kennison is the only one that comes close. Rice will have every chance to start because he is one of the top receivers in the draft. The Chiefs do have several other needs but look for them to address the Receiver position in the first round of this years draft.
Daily Norseman likes Dwayne Bowe.

Windy City Gridiron likes Dwayne Jarrett.

Buc 'Em likes Dwayne Bowe as well.

The Dwaynes are on their way up, with Bowe and Jarrett picking up a few more votes. We now have 55 mock drafts represented, extending from before the combine to yesterday. Meacham seems to have fallen a bit off of the radar after his post combine buzz. I know we need to drastically improve the defensive line while bolstering the offensive line as well. Lets face it. We have many, many needs on this team. Wide receiver is one of them, along with the lines. Its shaping up to look like the draft may be the best place to address the WR position.
