Kansas City Chiefs Sign WR Rod Gardner

(Toni L. Sandys - The Washington Post)

The Chiefs signed free agent WR Rod Gardner last night. Here are Gardner's all-time stats.

Drafted in 2001 by the Washington Redskins, Gardner spent last year with the Green Bay Packers. He basically peaked his second season when he was a 1,000 yard receiver and he had 8 TDs. After that, he put up 5 TDs in each of the next two seasons but only put up 1 TD with the Packers last year.  His yardage also saw a significant drop after that solid second season.

I believe any addition to our receiving corp is a good thing.  If anything, it will create some competition between the current starters.  Hopefully, Gardner can repeat his second season in Washington and become the star WR of the Chiefs.
