Casey Printers Will Remain With Us

Via TSN.CA, Canada's ESPN, we find out that Casey Printers is unlikely to be cut.  QB Coach Terry Shea told CKNW in Vancouver that the battle for 3rd string QB between Printers and Brodie Croyle will not come down to who is cut, but who is on the gameday roster and who is on the practice squad.

But this isn't even the most interesting part of the article.  TSN has a comments section as well. Lets see what the CFL gurus have to say:

The chiefs need to get a new #1 starter and forget about all of these younger guys.

I hope they include him [Printers] in the NFL Upper Deck Series II card set.

As a member of the practice squad, he'd earn 90,000. He doesn't get the clipboard during the games unless he's the third stringer, so he's playing to the clipboard. Rather see him north of the border, maybe he should talk with Flutie.

But they do have some good points:
It looks like the Chiefs are stockpiling young QB's. Trent Green is 36 or 37, so it's not a bad idea. Printers could have made more $$$ up here in the short term, but I guess he's taking the long view, taking his chances. Unfortunately for Printers, he was a free agent, so the Chiefs really have made no investment in hin like they have with Croyle. That likely will be the deciding factor.

Thats it for now.
