The Kansas City Chiefs are at #18 in Gridiron Grumbling's Power Rankings.
Down from #20 a week ago, Fox Sports puts the Chiefs at #22 this week.
Damon Huard had the best game of his pro career on Sunday. What'd he have to say afterward? Well, what any team player would: "What a great offensive line. There are so many guys that make my job easy. And our defense -- are you kidding me?" The Chiefs looked good in their 41-0 romp of San Fran. Then again, it was against the Niners. Ross, Repete, and the rest of the kids from Hoover High could beat San Fran this year.
Real Football 365 bumps the Chiefs up a spot to #22.
You'd think a 41-point win would move the Chiefs up higher, but let's see them do it against a real opponent first. San Francisco is, as usual, terrible.
Covers.com shoots the Chiefs up 6 spots to #18.
I'm not sure what the Chiefs did to deserve catching the Niners and Cardinals in back-to-back weeks, but it's certainly going to pay off now.
Up two spots, CBS Sportsline has the Chiefs at #22 as well.
The bye week did the Chiefs a lot of good. Damon Huard has done a nice job in place of Trent Green, who will be back in two weeks.
Just the same as CBS, ESPN puts the Chiefs at #22, with the San Fran victory pushing them up two spots from last week.
Yes, they've only played three games, but the Chiefs have the No. 3 overall defense in the NFL. That's pretty good no matter who you play.
I can understand why many of these rankings have the Chiefs in the lower 20s. We haven't played that well this season to deserve a higher ranking. Yet. Keep an eye on the No. 3 defense over the next few games and I think you will see the Chiefs rise significanly in the rankings.
I grabbed these links and this story idea from the Mile High Report. Check it out and see where the Broncos stand in the power rankings.
