2010 Kansas City Chiefs Analysis: The Chiefs have no sense of direction right now. Their overpaid quarterback is terrible; the offensive line can't block; the defensive line is the league's worst; the pass rush doesn't exist; and the head coach is mind-numbingly clueless. Kansas City is easily one of the worst teams in the NFL, and because general manager Scott Pioli has dug this franchise into such a deep hole, it doesn't look like things will improve anytime soon.
Projection: 3-13 (4th in AFC West)
Chiefs FB hopeful Oliver Hoyte scrambles as miniature versions of Andre Rison, Dante Hall, and Larry Johnson collapse the pocket. The Chiefs hosted a meet & greet with the community, one of four, at 18th and Vine in Kansas City. The last of the four is at the Olathe Family YMCA on Tuesday, June 3, 4-6 pm.
The Chiefs also have Kolby Smith and third-round draft pick Jamaal Charles at running back and want to give considerable snaps to both players. Edwards said they also feel a need to get a look at Johnson.
"He needs to get out there because we’re running a new offense," Edwards said. "It kind of helps the running game and the whole team when he’s out there running the ball, and the guys in front of him blocking are going to be the guys doing it when the season starts."
