1983. 2012. 29 years. In that span the Kansas City Chiefs have never, ever drafted a QB in the first round. The present: 2013. Will the Kansas City Chiefs make it to the 30-year mark, refusing to draft a 1st round QB?(Cont.)
This is a must see! Absolutely riveting! What a fool! He actually compares Kurt Warner to Matt Cassel.
I'm still in awe over this.
With the soon approaching 'official off season', teams are going to start making roster moves. It's going to be real interesting to see what the Kansas City Chiefs do in the coming months. Seems like the only position most Chiefs fans are concerned about is QB. And rightly so. Both Quinn and Cassel started 8 games a piece last season and they combined for 8 TDs and 20 INTs. The end result is probably the worst in franchise history for the Kansas City Chiefs. A lowly record of 2 wins and 14 losses. The only team to go longer in a season without a lead? The 1929 Buffalo Bisons. The 2012 Chiefs almost made history, in the worst of ways.
"Chiefs QB Matt Cassel completed 21 of 29 passes for 257 yards and four touchdowns in the Chiefs' 28-24 win over the Indianapolis Colts. His 138.9 passer rating was the highest of the weekend." - NFL.com
He faces stiff competition from Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger. Let's get our QB that award.
"Analysis: Cassel is almost like Pennington, a quarterback who took four teams to the playoffs for the Jets and Dolphins. He manages the game well enough to win and get a team into the playoffs. What holds him back is the lack of a big arm and his struggles in games against elite quarterbacks.
Arrow is pointing: flat"
Can't say I disagree too much with the ranking, although last year was an awesome step forward. However, I think Clayton should have written "struggles against elite defenses." Last I checked, Aaron Rodgers isn't rushing the passer.
