Kansas City Chiefs Mock Draft Tracker #7

NFL Smackdown
The Chiefs running game hasn't been the same since the loss of Willie Roaf and Will Shields and they are in desperate need of upgrading the offensive line. Jake Long is the most physically dominate offensive lineman in the country. He has long arms, good feet, and power in the run game. He showcases very good technique in pass protection and is a mauler in the run game. He has all the physical tool you look for in a tackle, and is just what the doctor ordered to protect the QB of future, Brodie Croyle.
The New NFL Draft
If Jake Long Falls to the Chiefs they will snag him as fast as possible. As of now I have Jake Long going to the Dolphins in this 2008 nfl Mock Draft. So the Chiefs could go a couple different ways with this pick. They could either take an OT like Ryan Clady who is ranked as one of the top 2008 nfl Draft OT’s or go with the best player available QB replacement. I previously had them taking Glenn Dorsey the top rated 2008 NFL Draft DT. However, I now have him going earlier to the Falcons so the Chiefs take the top 2008 NFL Draft DT available Sedrick Ellis. Sedrick Ellis is a very good DT and will help the Chiefs immediately in 2008.
Draft Wisdom
The Chiefs would like to take Jake Long with this pick but he is not available they should look to add talent to the interior defensive line with one of the three best defensive players in the draft. Dorsey is an amazing athlete who silenced his critics with an excellent pro day workout. The Chiefs shouldn't listen to the rumors of durability issues. Dorsey's ability should outway the risk. They also need an offensive Tackle but I am not sure Ryan Clady should be a 5th overall selection.
Ask the Commish
If Dorsey falls this far then the Chiefs will likely not hesitate to snatch him up here at the 5th pick. Dorsey will provide a major run-stuffing presence for a team that could use someone to anchor the middle of their defensive line.
NFL Draft Specialists
Dorsey should be a lock for a Top 5 pick. Had good college career, Glen Dorsey is more of a Warren Sapp type of DT than a true run stopper. Could go 1st overall, but that depends on who ends up with the 1st overall pick.
