Arrowhead Pride Community Mock Draft -- Pick #28 by the Dallas Cowboys

And with the 28th pick in the 2008 Arrowhead Pride Community Mock Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select:

Kansas CB Aqib Talib

Draft Profile

Primetime 07 with the pick:

The Cowboys are shocked that Aqib Talib is still on the board at this point.  Talib certainly fills a need for the 'Boys.  There are rumors that they are going after troubled CB Pacman Jones but Jerry Jones, for once in his life, doesn't want to take the risk that they A)don't get Jones or B)he gets in trouble again and doesn't work out.  Talib is also a great kick returner which is just icing on the cake at this point.

Sorry the pictures not bigger and the list isn't as tight as it was in other posts.  I'm no Chris when it comes to the HTML.  But I think you all get the point.

Everybody get out the pitchforks
and torches...we're going to riot because of primetime's lack of web design experience :)

This is one of the few mock drafts that I've seen that even includes pictures!

I'm telling you
this stuff is hard.  Or, at least on the outside it seems hard until you get the hang of it.

Anyone else think Talib won't be around
at #28?

Kiper has him in the top 10 I think.  The CBs in this draft kinda blur together IMO.

Great kick returner?
You really can't say Talib is a great kick returner.  He never returned a kick off in college and only returned 2 punts.  Mid 2nd round material at best.

I think secound round
is much more realistic...Top 10? Likely only one CB will go in the top ten and I don't think Talib is the best CB.  If he were there in Round 2, would he be a good fit for us?

Talib's a first-rounder
Probably not a top ten because he lacks elite speed, and I don't think he'd be a great NFL kick returner, but he's got good technique and size and could probably start right away so I think he belongs in the first round.  I think he'll end up being an above-average starting CB, possibly go to a Pro Bowl or two (but probably not come close to All-Pro level).  Might have a fairly short career because he'll have less to fall back on once he loses a step.
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.
