Man oh Man, It Sucks
that the Chiefs home opener for two years running comes with a losing record... Assuming we lose to New England.  That takes a little excitement out of the first home game.

I do maybe see us winning 7 games at max!!! That is a plus for us Chiefs fans since this schedule probably will not allow us to have a 9 game losing streak attached to the end of the season!

Well...
... at least I can spend Week 1 worrying about Fantasy Football scores instead of hoping that my beloved Chiefs will start the season with a win...

Ugh...

Agreed, except for a few
@ Carolina - Pretty unknown at this point, we obviously don't like playing on the road.

Buffalo - I think they will be pretty good this year.  Not sure on that one.

@ Oakland - Never an easy place to play/win.

Miami - Parcells will whip them into shape, no doubt.

@ Cincy - Dangerous offensive team, I'm basing their success on the Chad Johnson situation.  If that looms over them, ala T.O., then this could be a disastrous year for them.

I am looking at
some of our wins by way of boring, run it down their throats type of football.  Carolina's offense is tricky, you're right.  With Delhomme back, Steve Smith could light it up.  Also with DJ Hackett now there (right?) our corners could be in for it.

As for the rest:  I just don't think Parcells will have the gameday effect some think he will.  He'll put the personnel in there, but Sparano is a first year coach and this will be a very subject defense.

Once again
we start and end on the road...well at least this time we don't start and end with 2 road games in a row...that crap last season sucked.  We won't have any primetime games unless 1) we drastically improve this season, so we can be the cinderella story of 2009 (regardless of how bad we may suck in '09) or 2) we draft McFadden - then it won't matter if we suck because we'll have "star power".

Question - are any of these games on the flex schedule?  For example, if we beat the Pats and are 4-1 at our bye, is there a chance they would give us a prime time game later in the season?

Prime Time
According to kcchiefs.com the last 7 games are sugject to flexible scheduling. The schedule doesn't look to tough...maybe we will be able to sneak into the playoffs.

Sneak in, haha
We probably could.

We probably won't get any prime time games b/c we probably won't be in the playoff hunt and we are not a sexy team one bit.

5-11
I've got to agree with primetime's revision for the most part...Carolina is finally starting DeAngelo Williams (DeShaun Foster was KILLING them last year) and get Jake Delhomme back, Buffalo was solid last season and I think they'll improve this year, I think we split with Oakland (because they've signed some talent...even if it is all overpaid and overrated), and Miami gets Ronnie Brown back (and Ricky Williams as a backup) and I think Parcells makes them competitive early.  I think we beat the Bengals though because that appears to be a team heading for meltdown with a coach who'll be out after this year...they've got almost as many holes as we do.

Of course...
...injuries are the great equalizer and we haven't had the draft yet so it's all a wild-ass guess as to who's doing what at this point when we don't even know the rosters.

Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
