With the Saints getting the standout corner that they need in the first round, they turn their attention to their very fragile linebacker core. Defense is still the number one priority. With the addition of Jonathan Vilma, who is coming off of knee surgery, the Saints appear to have filled their need but now they have Dan Morgan, who has had more concussions than Steve Young, and Jonathan Vilma, who is coming off of knee surgery. Connor can likely play any linebacker position for the Saints and so provides a solid backup at any/all of their linebacker positions. The Saints make a value pick, getting first round talent in the middle of the second round and providing an insurance policy for the linebackers.
