Arrowhead Pride Community Mock Draft -- Pick #20 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

And with the 20th pick in the 2008 Arrowhead Pride Community Mock Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select:

California WR/RS DeSean Jackson

Draft Profile

arrowheadaddict with the pick:

Not only is Jackson one of the better underclassmen and potentially the best wide receiver in this class, the speedster is also that once-a-year Devin Hester/Tedd Gin-type return man. With Joey Galloway--a player who was a lot like Jackson coming out of Ohio State--aging, Jackson will make the perfect understudy. He will make an immediate impact as one of the NFL's best return specialists, and will eventually become the No. 1 target of all Bucs' QBs.

We felt that he was less risky than Malcolm Kelly and his knees, more proven than Devin Thomas, and less of a project than James Hardy. Jackson was the No. 1 WR on our board.

If there is a Galloway or Steve Smith to be found in the 2008 NFL Draft, it's Jackson. He may be small, but there wasn't even a small bit of hesitation in making this pick. The Bucs expect big things from DeSean.

I see why you made this selection
But I'm not a big fan of Jackson, at least not a 1st round fan.  He is absolutely tiny (169 lbs) which will shrink the field for him because he can't go across the middle.

RE
Who would you have taken?

Malcolm Kelly
Although the importance of Jackson also lies in his kick return game, I just don't like 1st rd picks that are limited at their position.

OMG
169 lbs?  Even Dante Hall could kill Jackson if he hit him too hard :)

Chris
I have to go out of town the next three days, when do you need my next pick?

Not until next Monday
You should be fine.
