Morning Update (Clean Cut Edition)

  • Your daily Pacman Jones update: Pacman Is In Dallas; Getting Closer To A Deal.

  • From KFFL, we learn that the Chiefs have shown interest in Akron CB Reggie Corner (The guy's name is corner. He has to be good), met with Pittsburgh OT Jeff Otah last Monday and that the Chiefs will meet Wheaton College LB Andy Studebaker. Appalachian State WR Dexter M. Jackson also said on Sirius NFL radio that the Chiefs have expressed interest in him.

  • You can meet a few Chiefs players at the Nelson-Atkins museum in Kansas City between 4-6 pm today.

  • Check out the second installment of the WPI round table.

  • Arrowhead Addict has an updated mock draft with the Chiefs taking Darren McFadden and KC Chiefs Fanatic gives us a stellar 4 round mock draft with the Chiefs taking Glenn Dorsey with the #5 pick.

  • Since stag just picked Florida DE Derrick Harvey with the #13 pick in the AP mock draft, I figure I'd mention that the Lions will take Harvey if he's there at #15.

  • Bengals beat reporter - "Folks, I’m here to tell ya that I’m absolutely, positively convinced the Bengals should-must-will draft an offensive tackle with the No. 9 overall pick in the first round of the 2008 NFL draft on April 26."

  • I found this quote by Broncos WR Brandon Marshall a bit funny - "From here on out, it's Brandon Marshall, clean-cut guy. Just trying to get my life together as far as accidents and DUIs."
Check out this clip of Kyle Turley on ESPN radio talking about the Chiefs' "hair" proposal. I've always found interviews with Turley to be entertaining. I remember listening to him being interviewed on Sirius NFL radio before last season and as the interview was ending, the host made a joke about the Chiefs not being able to beat the Texans in the opener. Turley laughed sarcastically, said "Fuck You!" and hung up. Classic Kyle Turley.

Interesting
quote from the WPI roundtable.

"That's why the Chiefs signed DeMorrio Williams, because there's talk about eventually moving Derrick Johnson to the middle."

And some optomistic hope for th O Line
"If healthy, Niswanger looks like a great replacement for Casey Wiegmann. In limited duty last season, he was pulling everywhere and smashing any defender in his path, clearing lanes for Kolby Smith. I was almost angry when the Chiefs took Niswanger out of the game in favor of John Welbourn several times last year."

RE
The round table also mentions that Herm said that Niswanger is the Chiefs' starting center going into OTAs.
