Arrowhead Pride Community Mock Draft -- Pick #10 by the New Orleans Saints

And with the #10 overall pick in the 2008 Arrowhead Pride Community Mock Draft, the New Orleans Saints select:

USF CB Mike Jenkins

Draft Profile

skibum 1537 with the pick:

I contemplated taking a flier on Leodis McKelvin but didn't want to get burned by a smaller school product. Jenkins has all of the tools to be the shut down corner that the Saints have been looking for during the past two free agency periods. This draft pick is an attempt to fix the mistake of paying Jason David, who is just awful, $15m over four years. The signing of Randall Gay in the offseason is not going to fix the glaring holes in the secondary due to him being a product of the New Endgland system so the Saints make this pick to try and shore up the position and improve the entire defense.

1. Miami Dolphins - QB Matt Ryan
2. St. Louis Rams - OT Jake Long
3. Atlanta Falcons - DT Glenn Dorsey
4. Oakland Raiders - DE Chris Long
5. Kansas City Chiefs - DT Sedrick Ellis
6. New York Jets - RB Darren McFadden
7. New England Patriots - DL Vernon Gholston
8. Baltimore Ravens - OT Ryan Clady
9. Cincinnati Bengals - OLB Keith Rivers
10. New Orleans Saints - CB Mike Jenkins

On the clock: Buffalo Bills (MAWK)

Ha!
"I contemplated taking a flier on Leodis McKelvin but didn't want to get burned by a smaller school product" - 'cause University of South Florida is HUGE...just giving you a hard time, I know what you meant.

Ha
I know.  When I wrote it, I couldn't believe what I was saying but I could actually name several players on the South Florida roster whereas with McKelvin, I haven't ever even seen him play or know what conference Troy is in.  I didn't have the time to look at what receivers he played against but it has been a while since there was a big name receiver to come out of whatever conference Troy is in.  At least with South Florida he was playing against Big East opponents.
