Morning Update (Mock Yeah! Edition)

Tony Gonzalez on the Sci-Fi Network -- "When a plane carrying a pair of top secret military robots crashes on a deserted Pacific island, a team of Navy seals must find them and turn them off as soon as possible for the longer they are activated, the smarter they become."

  • There's a ton of stuff at Arrowhead Addict from over the weekeend. Go. Read. Avoid work. I know it's early but if you plan out your internet surfing wisely, you can avoid work at all day.

  • Speaking of Chiefs videos, Mr. Wendler from WPI has another great highlight video posted.

  • The great question of Brodie Croyle's career, from Michael Ash at WPI -- "How can the Chiefs expect to see what Brodie Croyle is truly capable of if he’s constantly running for his life or stuck running a one-dimensional offense every week because of a lackluster running game?"

  • This makes me happy -- No more Jason Elam in the AFC West.

  • Those crazy Denver Broncos -- "In the most bizarre off-season injury to date, Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall said he slipped on a McDonalds bag and wound up with his arm wrapped in a cast."

  • I don't think the Wonderlic test matters at all. We all know successful "dumb" people and "smart" people who can't get it together.

  • This circulated around last week -- The Chiefs proposed a rule to ban long hair.

  • Interesting tidbit from Peter King this morning -- "Strange thing here. At the combine, Carl Peterson told me the Chiefs loved Ryan, but there was no way they could take him because of their needs elsewhere. (Offensive line, I'm guessing.) Then they sent half the front office to his workout the other day at BC. Methinks Carl does not want to be the man to pass on the guy he thinks will be a franchise player."

  • Remember WR Marc Boerigter? No more football for him. He recently accepted a sales job in Kansas City.
The First Annual Arrowhead Pride Mock Draft is finally here!

Today, we lead off with the #1, #2 and #3 picks. Please, please check the official list and remind yourself when you pick. We plan on doing three picks a day so make sure you're ready! Nothing will kill this experience faster than no-shows. We'll vote in place of those but its a lot more fun if everyone is able to participate.

Until the mock draft starts, feel free to use this post to comment on any of the articles. And Tony G. is killed in that clip by a giant robotic claw so make sure you check it out at home if you're unable watch videos at work.

Ahh Ensign Ricky!
Kirk: Alright men, this is a dangerous mission. And it's likely one of us will be killed. The landing party will consist of myself, Mr Spock, Doctor McCoy, and Ensign Ricky.

Ensign Ricky: Ahh crap

Blame my wife!

Good video
I just wonder who's arms LJ will jump into after his touchdowns?

Not Jason Dunn
The Chiefs forced him out of the league because of his long hair.

How about Owen Schmitt's?
I am sure he could hold up LJ with only his mohawk :)

Anyone else think
that Brandon Marshall's injury is...umm... a little suspicious?

by Chris on Mar 24, 2008 10:12 AM CDT   0 recs

no kidding...
I was thinking about the sheer physics of slipping on a PAPER bag that happened to be right next to a tv entertainment center....if you're gonna make up a story, at least make it believable.

Yeah I believe lots of stuff
For example, you'd be surprised the number of men who do the vacuuming in the nude and accidentally slip.
Blame my wife!

Dude had to have
been haulin ass! T.V. screens are hard to break, when I was a kid my friend's family had a junkyard/ trash pile out in their field we would throw stuff at old t.v.'s and they were incredibly hard to break! Can you say domestic violence charge in the future for Marshall? The vacuuming in the nude thing?

Tony G Pilots Like A Football Player
So if I'm an armed pilot and I'm sitting in an aircraft at 20,000 feet being attacked by a pair of giant robotic arms, I probably think to myself...1) hey, handgun bullets probably aren't going to kill a robotic arm, 2) bullets hitting metal objects tend to ricochet, 3) ricocheting bullets in an airplane at 20,000 feet tend to be an extremely bad thing, particularly if they hit windows and cause decompression, and 4) hiding behind a reinforced door while attempting to land offers me a better chance of survival.  Oh well, at least Tony G got to pilot the plane with Mr. Sulu.

Shows like this are why I never watch the Sci-Fi channel when Battlestar Galactica isn't on.

But but
There were gigantic robotic claws coming after him!

Darwinism on Sci-Fi
But but there were gigantic robotic claws coming after him!

Also metallic and attached to the robotic arms.  In scenarios like this I always root for the robotic arms...they're clearly more deserving of survival. :)

Brandon Marshall
I don't buy that excuse either, now if he was a baseball player, I guess I can see it.

Nightmares can induce emotional and psychological stress. For Blue Jays outfielder Glenallen Hill, bad dreams brought on a more tangible pain. Hill tumbled out of bed and crashed into a glass table while having a nightmare about being covered in spiders. The cuts he sustained caused Hill to likely become the first athlete ever sidelined due to arachnophobic-related injuries.

Am I the only one.....
who thought Marc B was the most underrated player on the Chielfs, until he broe his leg in pre-season? He was my secret weapon in Madden 2003.
