Chiefs Release More Dead Weight

And the purge continues:

The Chiefs continued their rebuilding process by telling four more veteran players they would be released, sources said.

One, cornerback Ty Law, was a starter last season. Two, linebacker Kendrell Bell and defensive tackle James Reed, are former starters while the fourth player, tight end Jason Dunn, was once a key reserve.

All of the players are over 30 except Bell, who turns 30 in July.

No surprises here. The Chiefs can do better than James Reed with a younger and cheaper player.

One name that I'm surprised we haven't heard yet is Eddie Drummond. He's an unrestricted free agent which means he hits the open market in a few days. Not that anyone will go after him though.

Are you guys seeing what is happening?
The Chiefs are actually cutting veterans!

They are making moves that the general public agrees with!

They are reading AP!

This is getting crazy.  Moves like this are just making me more excited about the future.

I heard on
the radio that Law could not be released until Friday due to something with the calender year. I also heard that they are going to let G Wes heal from offseason knee surgery, and try to trade him because they feel there is some value there.

February 29th
Start of the new league year.  Technically when free agency begins and transition/non-exclusive franchise tag players can talk to other teams.
