Around SBN: Kentucky Football: Tee Martin Reportedly Leaving for USC

The West Coast Wallop.

September 29, 2007 - Saturday

Well the Chiefs are off to sunny San Diego this weekend to take on the Superchargers. Well, I guess Marty's regime was the Superchargers. Now I suppose you could say that they need a charger. However do not discount the fact that they have the ability to put a massive thumping on the Chiefs, their struggling yes, but for how long?

It seems every season the Chiefs have games that they have no chance of winning and pull it out. But, there are also the games they should walk away with too, and we all know the usual result of those games aswell. More often than not we get thumped. Where does this game line up? I am hoping right in the middle.

It is my opinion that this should be a farely close game. Both offenses are struggling at the moment, but, for how long? The Chiefs defense is spectacular right now and the offense seems to be on the upward curve after the second half of the Minnesota game. Bowe and Gonzalez are playing very well right now and Johnson is due, past-due.

On the other hand the Chargers always seem to kick it up against the Chiefs especially one LeDanian Tomlinson. Antonio Gates fares very well against the Chiefs aswell. Home field advantage is always a factor in football, but after last years 14-2 season and the expectations so high, you have to wonder just how excited this crowd will be considering the offseason changes and the resulting 1-2 start. Not to mention their once phenominal defense is playing very poorly right now. (must be the "lack" of steroids).

With all of this in mind, even though most experts and analysts are predicting a Chargers win on Sunday. I am going with the Chiefs over the Chargers 24-17. I just have a hunch. I was right on the Minnesota game. And as I did before, I am still standing on 11-5. Wait and see.

What is your pick for this weekend? Send me your comments and picks W/L and scores. We will see who's right.

Chiefs win
30-23

Huard will burn the SD d-backs for over 300 yards and 2 TD's.  After opening up the game with the pass LJ gets going and rushes for 105 yds and a TD.  Rayner will be perfect in the field goal dept, going 3 for 3.  I think our D will gameplan to shutdown LT and let them see if they can beat us with the pass.  I predict Rivers will have over 300 yards as well with 2 TD's and 2 INT's, we will also sack him 4 times.

Damn
That prediction was really close.  Wow, thats pretty sweet.  Being overly optimistic finally pays off!

Sounds good.
I don't like San Diego to score more than about 17 though. If they score more than that, our defense isn't doing their jobs.

I agree
but I think we will build an early lead and they will throw quite a bit.  The score wont indicate how bad we really beat them.

First true test
for our defense. We'll see how they stack up.

Chiefs win, 23 to 20.

Chiefs put up a good fight
but San Diego prooves to be to tough in the end.  I don't expect San Diego's slumping offense to break out against us, but the same goes for our offense.  I think we'll put up 13, but the Chargers score 21, on an LT run, LT pass, and Gates TD, those two always have big games against us.

Hopefully they'll proove me wrong, but I don't think so.
