Kansas City Chiefs Lose to the Bears, 20 to 10

The Chiefs lost to the Bears 20 to 10 today. Check out the game center stats here. I thought the Chiefs played pretty well overall, yet failed to convert on turnovers and had a key one of their own at the end of the game. I'll digest this tonight and have a write up bright and early tomorrow morning. As usual, feel free to write up your own in the diary section.

I feel better about the Chiefs after this game. The defense looked good and the offense at least scored a TD. Dwayne Bowe? Yeah baby. Gotta love the excitement he brings.

Put your post game thoughts in this thread. Fantastic game thread by the way.

I forgot to mention Devin Hester
Is that guy that good or are we that unlucky/bad?

I still don't like the play calling.
Third and long down by ten and they throw a 2 yard swing pass.  I have no problem with playing to kick a field goal; but if you are counting on a kicker to constantly make 45+ yard field goals you are going to lose more then you win.

It was better this week
I said to a few buddies this past week that I wouldn't be surprised to see a flea flicker or a half back pass. Damn illegal shift...

True it was better
I also want to know if he is throwing to check downs or are those his first option.  If he does not have a lot of time and he has to check down then no problem.  But if that is his primary read then its a problem.  I would rather see more of a Bears passing game.  While there passes were short the were still in the 7-9 yard range where as the Chiefs were more or 2-4 yard range, or even to the backs.

I also forgot to mention
that despite D Bowe's TD being a great catch, he did steal it from Tony Gonzalez. I was just watching the replay on NFL.com

that makes it almost better IMO...
he goes and GETS the football, as opposed to a WR like samie parker who waits for it to come to him, and even then probably drops it (although he has been much better this year)...

bowe made two tremendous catches today, and it really looks like he has a bright future.

Brodie
And of course the debut of Brodie.  Sure, they were playing prevent, but he looked good.

I expect the Huard-Croyle drama is about to resurface.  I don't care either way - Huard isn't getting the go-ahead to do anything dramatic.  He is a better QB than Solari thinks.

But if it is Croyle, I don't care either.

Finally - a home game!! I am psyched for next week.  I get to be a part of it & that makes a difference. I truly believe that.

Cheers.

You play to win the game!

this is basically my toughts on the game
from the game thread...

we played really good today
especially our defense. phil simms said it, their offense really only scored 10 points, a pretty good outing by our D.

"our O played better than last week two. D-Bo looked sick on that catch, and jeff webb had a tremendous game. plus, i think they can get better when we arent playing what is probably the best D in the NFL. i mean, we scored before san diego scored last week, and we were on the road and SD was at home.

this season isnt lost (yet) and i wouldnt be surprised to come home and win against minny at all. we also will probably lose at SD, but we have a legitimate shot against both cincy and jacksonville at home.

my goal is to get to 3-4 by our bye week, because our schedule is a lot easier after our bye as opposed to before it..."

I think we can be 4-3
I think that we can beat Cin, Jac, Oak, Min.  I don't think that SD has looked all that good so far this year.   I think we did better against the Bears then they did.

if we go 4-3
we have a legitimate chance at making the playoffs. we could go 6-3 against our post-bye schedule.

7 winnable games:
vs. green bay
vs. denver
vs. oakland
vs. san diego
vs. tennessee
@ detroit
@ new york jets

we would be doing great to win 6 of those, but we should win at least 4 and i would beat that we win 5. then we have 2 more games, @ denver and @ indianapolis.

it is still a longshot, but we still do have a chance. we did it last year...

Did we release Medlock
altogether?  The rumor was to put him on waivers and then move him to the practice squad after he cleared.  Did someone else pick him up?

Internet rumors
say he is getting help with his kicking game from an outside source. He's certainly not on the team though and I don't think anyone will pick him up.

I hope not
I really hope that we put him on the practice squad...I would hate to lose a draft pick  and I don't think he will always be that bad.  I just have  a feeling that he will end up being a pretty good kicker and I would hate to see him on another team.
