SB Nation Fantasy Football Draft Results

We had the AFC side of the SB Nation fantasy football draft last night and I think I came out pretty well. I had the #5 pick and I was almost sure I was going to be forced to take Larry Johnson, which would have been just fine with me. But alas, Matt from The Phinsider snatched him up with the #4 pick. Here are my draft results...

  • ROUND 1 (#5 overall) - Shaun Alexander

  • ROUND 2 (#20 overall) - Ronnie Brown

  • ROUND 3 (#29 overall) - Donovan McNabb

  • ROUND 4 (#44 overall) - Javon Walker

  • ROUND 5 (#53 overall) - Tony Gonzalez

  • ROUND 6 (#68 overall) - Ladell Betts

  • ROUND 7 (#77 overall) - Bernard Berrian

  • ROUND 8 (#92 overall) - Chris Chambers

  • ROUND 9 (#101 overall) - Drew Bennett

  • ROUNDS 10-16 - Matt Leinart, 49ers defense, Correll Buckhalter, Reuben Droughns, Patrick Crayton, Jason Hanson (kicker) and Greg Jones (RB for the Jags).
I like Drew Bennett a lot more after hearing that Torry Holt may not be healthy all year following off season knee surgery. I also felt like McNabb was a good pickup in the 3rd round, especially when I stretched a bit for Ronnie Brown. Tony Gonzalez was my big homer pick and he was indeed a stretch in the 5th round. But I felt the duty to report back to you all that I had drafted a member of the Chiefs offense not named Larry Johnson. Betts seemed to be a good pickup as well, considering the lingering tendinitis in Clinton Portis' knee.

I think I drafted pretty well. Not stellar, but good enough to contend. Thoughts?

Hadn't heard that about Torry Holt
so Drew Bennett could be a steal.

If McNabb is healthy, he is a top 3-4 QB.

Not a Ronnie Brown fan at all.  Especially with Trent struggling.  But if Trent gets it together him and Chambers will be great picks.  Not a bad draft at all.

you did pretty good.
mcnabb was a smart pick, but i think the entire miami offense (and thus brown and chambers) will really really struggle.

i love love berrian, great pick there, same with betts.

i dont like the niners defense, but it is hard to really dell how good D's are.

you did a pretty good job....
