Bringing You Up to Speed on the Kansas City Chiefs

During the off season, I got into the habit of not posting on the weekends because...you know..I'd like to have some semblance of a life outside of this here web log. But with the season quickly approaching, that weekend respite will be no more. Without further ado, here are some updates that happened over the weekend.

Injured left tackle Damion McIntosh is back at practice, participating in light drills. McIntosh is optimistic about playing the season opener against the Houston Texans on September 9th.

A former Kansas State star, McIntosh said he did more than just "sprain" his right knee after getting rolled up during a tackle. Instead, he said he had surgery Aug. 9 to repair a "second-degree tear" of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

"Right now I’m just rehabbing it, and they’re watching my progress," he said. "It’s healing. Right now I’m just day-to-day."

Speaking of the Texans, they are apparently interested in trading for safety Greg Wesley. Wesley has reportedly been unhappy with his current situation in KC and I can't blame the guy after we drafted two capable safeties. Denver was originally rumored to be a possible landing spot for Wesley but the Chiefs were hesitant to trade the vet to a division rival. Note to the The Star: Get an updated picture of Wesley. His hair is just a bit longer now.

Herm Edwards will apparently decide who the starting QB will be after this week's game. Pretty good Hermism on picking a starting QB- "People can assume whatever they want but it’s like going to the prom. Eventually you’ve got to pick a date; you can’t go by yourself. Whoever the guy is going to be he will be the best guy on opening day that can help us win."

lives are overated
and I concur that going to the prom solo is possible, in fact, under the right circumstances, preferable

as david brent says, "why buy a book when you can join the library?"
