Official Arrowhead Pride Offseason Depth Chart

We here at Arrowhead Pride like to think of our relationship with our loyal readers as a mutualist symbiosis, much like a cornstalk and a trellis of beans. (Love your Google, people.)

That said, while we do our best to actively present the bits and pieces of Chiefs information and conversation for you folks, we also have no qualms stealing your ideas and making them our own. What you may call "theft," we call "entirely-direct inspiration."

Our prolific diary guy and all-around main man Carl came up with a depth chart that, while not particularly deep at all, is still a football topic in the middle of July that we could kill time talking about while collectively waiting for River Falls to be upon us.

So what's Arrowhead Pride's official depth chart for the offseason, that is until we decide at any time to alter it? Onward!

Some quibbles
Sounds to me like Boomer will get every chance to start at FB. I can't imagine Willis makes the 53-man roster at TE. Kris Wilson was the only offensive star in that Colts playoff game (I know, we sat behind his mom) so I figure he will get some more reps in a two-TE receiving set, especially at the beginning of the season as Bowe is broken in.

Boomer.
According to Herm Edwards himself and the buzz around Arrowhead, Boomer will be brought in primarily for goal-line and short yardage situations. I doubt if he can outplay the athletic Kris Wilson in the other phases of a FB's position.

Wilson vs. Willis
I do think Wilson & Willis should be reversed on my depth chart, though, now that I look at it. Dunn's got one more year left, maybe, and Willis looks like the heir apparent to be the team's blocking TE when he's gone. The Chiefs can't release Willis, because another team might scoop him up. So I believe they'll tuck him away deep on the roster for 2007 in order to have him around for 2008 and beyond.

take willis out
and put in ekwekekrku (i think it has a couple more k's...). he has monster size and a boatload of potential, he definately deserves to make the team.

Eckwerekwu
Yeah, the guy's got a bizarre name. However I doubt the Chiefs want a seven-deep WR set. I doubt they even want a six-deep WR set but that's what they'll have if Randolph turns out to be a quality punt returner. With as much as Hannon and Webb have been touted by Herm, I doubt Eck can unseat either of those gentlemen, and sadly I'm betting on Samie Parker returning another year. Eck is going to factor into our offense in the near future perhaps, so that's why I expect him to make the practice squad -- a post I should be making in a day or two.
