Christian Okoye Makes His Comeback Tonight

Don't forget that everyone's favorite Nigerian immigrant and former Chiefs RB great Christian Okoye is one of 16 people who will sail around the Caribbean in search of a hidden treasure worth $1 million. The website for this CBS show is ridiculous. You can check out the Pirate wiki or speculate about the strategy of cast members. Probably the worst part of the site is the fact that everyone who comments feels the need to speak in pirate talk. Its get old just as quickly as you think it would. In fact, there appears to be a pirate "purist" of sorts on the message board:

Yarrr.. all be wastin u're time watchin this Survivor rip off... t just cashin in on the popularity of the POTC movies and us real pyrates out there... if yarr all wanna see REAL pyrates... visit PIP or PyrateCon... if this were a show that cast REALISTIC pyrate-types and had a real treasure hunt goin on... it certainly wouldn't be pretty..... this was originally advertised as period ... ship food clothing etc.. I've never known pyrates in the GAP to be sportin bikinis.... or...
Here's what they have to say about our favorite cast member:
pirateboo, Ahoy matey, I just told my husband that Christian is on Pirate Master and he said exactly what you said .... I've read that Christian is a big friendly guy... everybody loves him "but perhaps they should fear him"............LOL cause they just might have to walk the plank so don't let me down Christian.
Apparently, corporate news station message boards aren't the bastion of intellectual thought I believed them to be.
Christian - that's some SERIOUS brawn, there!
Dare I say live-blog the premiere episode of Pirate Master? I just may have to.

**NOTE** Live blogging the show Pirate Master would have been a horrible idea. Christian Okoye didn't say a word but he's still on for next week. He may just slip by enough weeks to keep me interested in this damn show.

Arrrrggg Me Hardy's
Hoist the sail and mop the poop deck...OK, I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.  I love Christian Okoye, he is the main reason I feel in love with the Chiefs in '89.  But I'm not sure how I feel about this.  Is he this hard up for something to do? Is this some sort of a cry for help?  I don't know if I should feel sorry for him or not?

Okoye
He was looking pretty weak on that canoe trip there.  He needs to drop some Chiefs references.

I'm pretty sure
Christian Okoye didn't say a word that episode. I did miss the first minute though.

WOW
Is it just me or was that one of the greatest shows in the history of television? That was AWESOME! I really like the "pirate captain" twist on everything. They should have tossed the captain overseas! ARRRGGGH MATEY! It does suck they don't actually make you walk the plank when you get cut. That would be make it epic. I thought John got hosed though. He definitely won the booty for them, but they kicked him off just for being weird and not shivering his timbers enough (plus he's a scientist/exotic dancer??? What a combo!)

I think Christian played it safe, which is probably good for now. You don't want to stick out early. It seems like a few mates like him as the big, jovial gentleman.

I think he stick around
for a while as the non threatening, really nice old guy. Because everyone else is at least 10 years younger than he is.

Shall we gather around here the same time next week? As long as he's on the show, I plan on blogging about it.

Hmmm
We watched.
I am an unashamed Survivor fanatic, so I guess it would be like Survivor.

When the Captain was made the Captain, he was a total dick.  And some of the shit seemed rehearsed.

Anyway - NN did tell the camera (or maybe it was a group shot) that he played professional football!!

I'll watch again - just because it's summer & we have  115 days until I get to see my Chiefs in person.

Only 101 days til the season opener - hmm - sounds like a diary.

You play to win the game!

Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
